Investing in middle-market behavioral health.
HCC Partners invests $20 to $50 million in established behavioral health companies across the United States, partnering with founders, clinicians, and management teams.
We are operators who became investors. Our team has built, run, and scaled behavioral health companies across the continuum of care.
Built by the people who ran the business
HCC Partners was founded by operators. Before investing in behavioral health, our team built and ran behavioral health companies: scaling nine psychiatric hospitals, operating substance use disorder programs across detoxification, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care, and growing an ABA company.
That experience informs how we evaluate businesses and how we work with management teams after we invest. We understand licensure, payor relationships, clinical staffing, and quality of care because we have managed them directly.
We invest exclusively in behavioral health. Demand for quality care continues to exceed supply, and we believe the providers best positioned to meet that demand are those that grow without compromising clinical standards.

What we look for
We have sat in the seats our management teams sit in.
A track record inside the operation
Psychiatric hospitals
Members of our team scaled nine psychiatric hospitals, expanding capacity while strengthening clinical programs, physician relationships, and quality outcomes.
Substance use disorder treatment
We built and operated a substance use disorder platform spanning detoxification, residential treatment, and partial hospitalization.
Autism services
We scaled an applied behavior analysis (ABA) company, growing clinical teams and opening new centers while maintaining quality of care.
How we partner
With founders and management teams
We structure transactions around the goals of the people who built the business, whether they intend to continue leading it or to transition over time.
After closing, we support management with payor strategy, recruiting, de novo growth, and systems. We treat clinical quality as the basis for durable growth, not as a cost to be managed down.
With investors and intermediaries
We maintain a focused mandate and respond quickly and directly to opportunities within it.
Intermediaries and co-investors can expect clear communication, disciplined valuation, and a team that understands the operations behind the numbers.
